The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobiles people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our national Marketing team as a Web Developer.

Position Summary:
  • Responsible for designing program logic and writing/adapting code for web based applications. Tasks include testing, implementing and maintaining code from design and layout to implementation for overall functionality with a scalable site
  • Integration of third-party components to improve the efficiency and quality of Society web applications
  • Knowledge of security principles and how they apply to e-commerce applications
  • Responsible for implementing useful modern elements into a visually appealing site, with a user-friendly design that provides easy and clear navigation for an exceptional online experience
  • Constant communication and collaboration with digital marketing team to continuously improve web and mobile practices and standards
Essential Function/Responsibility:

Responsible for the functional implementation and technical design, development, and maintenance of Society web sites to provide constituents with exceptional online experiences.

  • Use Society's approved web platforms/tools to create or adapt existing programming code to meet the goals of the Society
  • Responsible for testing and timely delivery of quality technical work across Society web sites as assigned.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date documentation
  • Web and mobile properties include but are not limited to,, and online fundraising sites (,,,,, and other leadership events) and apps, and other mobile apps

Adhere to Society standards, processes and procedures for web and mobile production, maintenance, and day-to-day operations. Check own work and perform quality assurance as assigned.

  • Implement tasks in alignment with Society's brand, user experience (UX), user interface/interaction (UI), and current technical standards
  • Contribute to definition and ongoing updates to Society coding/technical standards, quality assurance standards and processes
  • Ensure WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility across site production
  • Implement on-page search engine optimization improvements as requested
  • Understand and stay apprised of production schedule, prioritize responsibilities, and communicates progress and status daily to ensure deadlines and standard response timeframes are met or resolved with transparency
  • Apprise the digital marketing team of issues in a timely and consistent manner to ensure tracking resolution of roadblocks, bug fixes, or other issues
  • Assist with implementation and troubleshooting of tracking/analytics issues
  • Participate in cross-functional work teams to define, develop and implement site enhancements as assigned
  • Serve as a mentoring resource by providing guidance and knowledge to digital marketing team
