Job Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.

Position Summary:

Create new content and adapt/rewrite existing content for use across a variety of purposes, audiences and channels. Review and update content for accuracy, quality, usability, optimization per channel and engagement per audience.

Essential Function/Responsibility:
Create new content and adapt/rewrite existing content for consistent use Society-wide and across multiple channels (short form, long form, imagery, video, etc.). Content will be developed for various constituent audiences and channels (web, email, social publications / education / resources, direct marketing, promotions, etc.) in alignment with the Society's brand, including language and style guidelines.

  • Understand, define and optimize content per channel
  • Understand, define and craft content to result in actionable awareness and engagement with specific target audiences
  • Review and update content for accuracy, quality, and reliability -- ensuring authenticity and relevance per channel and audience.

  • Understand, define and write to target audiences
  • Understand, define and optimize content per application / channel
  • Manage development process(es) and efforts to defined Society content needs, calendar and strategies

Through ongoing communications, provide continual progress and transparency on development schedule and status

Support centralized, timely acquisition and organization of all content across the Society, including identifying sources and performing outreach and follow-up

Support acquisition process(es) and efforts to defined Society content needs and calendar; assist with process development and continuous improvement over time as needed

Ensure close collaboration within/between teams to effectively develop and deliver content in support of campaign, channel, team and individual needs, Society strategic priorities, and expected results.
