Job Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. To fulfill this mission, the Society funds cutting-edge research, drives change through advocacy, facilitates professional education, collaborates with MS organizations around the world, and provides programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.
  • Under direction of Digital Experience Lead, manage the evolution and optimization of the Society's digital fundraising experience, across web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop and direct governance of Society's online fundraising strategy, user experience (UX) and user interface/interaction (UI) standards, in coordination with other web standards.
  • Leverage qualitative (user feedback) and quantitative (digital analytics/user testing) techniques to measure performance and inform future optimization.
  • Provide staff leadership within online fundraising and close collaboration within/between teams to appropriately direct and coordinate efforts to ensure strategic alignment, effective cross-channel experiences, and expected results.
Essential Function/Responsibility
Lead the evolution and optimization of the Society's online fundraising experience, across web and mobile platforms.
  • Play a strong leadership role on the cross-functional work team to develop master event experiences for Bike MS, Walk MS, Challenge Walk MS, DIY, Finish MS, and other leadership events. Identify business, functional requirements, prioritize features and enhancements for peer-to-peer online fundraising, and help manage scope, contracts and vendors.
  • Optimize online donation experience (forms, flow) for all donation types (events, general, honor/memorial, leadership gifts, etc).
  • Work with stakeholders to identify ongoing updates, prioritize work, and implement or oversee execution.
  • Stay abreast of peer-to-peer fundraising trends, the overall online fundraising tools landscape, and specific enhancements and capabilities of Society's chosen tools.

Develop and direct governance of Society's online fundraising strategy, user experience (UX) and user interface/interaction (UI) standards, in coordination with other web standards.

  • Ensure proper documentation and implementation of business and functional requirements, user guides, and training materials.
  • Educate and train the organization in alignment with strategy and guidelines.
  • Regularly review and enhance Society practices and policies in online fundraising.
